And yes, I have indeed been wanting to use that headline for ages.
The reason for the headline is to announced that I’ve got a guest post over on the Liberal Conspiracy website, reporting on the dangers of unregulated psychotherapists.
Sadly, in my experience, the NHS complaints system is just as bad, particularly in mental health, where the same tactics of bullying, obstruction and so on are also employed by the managers to avoid dealing with complaints from patients, who are patronised and insulted on a regular basis if they persist in challenging the status quo. Of course psychiatrists can be referred to the General Medical Council, but otherwise it seems they are untouchable because of the terms of their employment, unlike nurses who can be fired for unethical behaviour. I have recently reached a position myself where I seem to have no other option than to refer two consultants to the GMC. It remains to be seen whether this will be effective.
glad to see the unaffected use of the C word.
perhaps though, it would’ve been better applied to Will Self, along with an adjective such us narcissistic?
