Interview tips for staff nurse job

(Here’s a request from a reader - feel free to use the comments box to offer advice. Zarathustra)

I am new to all this so here goes!! I am a 3rd year Advanced Diploma in Nursing student and have just 5 months left till I qualify. I have been given a job interview on Monday for a staff nurse position on a forensic low secure men’s ward. I am extremely nervous as I do not know what sort of questions they might ask me, if anyone has any idea at all I would be eternally grateful!!

Kittyxxx121 : In reality EN's used to do the same jobs as junior staff nurses CD, there was no scope for promotion. Before AfC they still used to do meds rounds, ward rounds would even be left in charge of a ward if short staffed. however they only usedto get C grade, bloody disgusting i think. Thankfully that's all gone now.
Mr Ian : Not here in Oz - they still churn ENs out regularly.
cellar_door : I worked with an EN on my last placement. Was always a bit confused about what he could and couldn't do...
Kittyxxx121 : I think it is rather hypothetical. Most have retired. You've more chance finding a lottery winner than an EN these days
Mr Ian : Kitty: you're right - and I'm out of date. I checked it out in the revised Code «link» and it does indeed now permit nurses from part 1 or 2 of MH or LD to implement 5(4). I much preferred it in the old days ... only cos I was right then

Kittyxxx121 : No, It's not dodgy. It's true As prescribed in the actual act. Nigel Turner merely gives summaries and has a disclaimer that it shouldn't be used as legal fact.

Mr Ian : Unless it's changed since I was there - Has to be first level nurse - can't do the link thing - but check out MHA hyperguide «link» - "This Section allows a nurse to prevent a voluntary patient from leaving the ward pending the arrival of the doctor who could, if necessary, impose a Section 5(2). The nurse must be a qualified "first level" nurse." The policy you linked too may be dodgy since 5(4) requires clinical assessment leading to decision making - whic
