I was called upon to escort a patient that had presented in A&E to a hospital out of area recently. The patient who I will call Ted was a mathematician and at the start of our journey which was to take about an hour I asked him what branch of mathematics he studied. Number theory he replied and then proceeded to tell me all about it….

Kittyxxx121 : In reality EN's used to do the same jobs as junior staff nurses CD, there was no scope for promotion. Before AfC they still used to do meds rounds, ward rounds would even be left in charge of a ward if short staffed. however they only usedto get C grade, bloody disgusting i think. Thankfully that's all gone now.
Mr Ian : Not here in Oz - they still churn ENs out regularly.

Mr Ian : Kitty: you're right - and I'm out of date. I checked it out in the revised Code «link» and it does indeed now permit nurses from part 1 or 2 of MH or LD to implement 5(4). I much preferred it in the old days ... only cos I was right then
